Short Films
Below are my two favorite short films that I have edited and been a part of. Both of which have won awards at different film festivals.
I’ve worked on a fair amount of short films, not always in an editing capacity, but editing is definitely my favorite aspect of filmmaking.
I hope you enjoy taking a look at the shorts I’ve been a part of!
‘Taste of Love’ (Best Comedy Short - Sonscreen Film Festival 2023)
The short film ‘Taste of Love’, written and directed by my good friend Adam Adreveno. It won the award for ‘Best Comedy Short’ at the Sonscreen Film Festival in Loma Linda, CA, in 2023. It’s a dark comedy following two friends, one of whom is trying to convince the other that his new girlfriend isn’t as weird as she seems.
For this project, I was the Co-Producer, 1st Assistant Director, and Editor.
The entire production from start to finish was a great experience, and I learned a lot while editing this film.
‘Evelyn’
‘Evelyn’ is a Horror short film written and directed by my wonderful girlfriend, Megan Lira. It won the ‘Best Thesis’ Award at the Diogenes Film Festival in St. Helena, CA, in 2023.
“Following the death of her twin sister Abigail, Evelyn must traverse an unknown world in search of meaning to the horrors in which she is now experiencing.”
I was Co-Producer, 1st Assistant Director, and Editor for this short film.
This production was incredibly enjoyable. We had a great crew and great actors, and our friend Josue Hilario was an exceptional Director of Photography.
I learned quite a lot editing ‘Evelyn’. It challenged me in ways I didn’t expect while I was on set, but I was able to figure it out and learned how to overcome those challenges, and deliver a great film.
